The wedding tour complete and Sean heading home to hold down the fort, phase two of my adventure kicked into high gear. The Gulecs hosted a tasty brunch at their house — featuring lots of yummy fried morsels — and we bid adieu to those going on “The Blue Voyage,” a boat cruise Onur and Chrissy arranged for their friends that were making it out to the Turkish wedding. I sadly decided not to go. While I knew I’d be missing one of the best memory-making experiences ever, I had the opportunity to stay somewhere equally beautiful, free of charge. Now that my income is negative, I have to pick and choose a bit more carefully.
After lounging and dozing by the pool with my London-based friends, Taj and Ragi, I boarded a ferry back to Chios, where I would spend the night. Still sick and rather tired, I told my biker friends I wasn’t up for hanging and spent a rather uneventful night in my hotel room uploading my pictures and watching “Open Water” with Greek subtitles.
